She is the symbol of determination, energy, and resilience: yesterday, Bebe Vio Grandis opened the 55th edition of the Giffoni Film Festival , greeted with enthusiasm by the Giffoners. The multiple Paralympic champion, an ambassador for sport and inclusion, chose Giffoni to tell her extraordinary story and share, through anecdotes, the most significant moments of her life. During the meeting, Bebe recounted her childhood, speaking of her early passion for fencing . With her trademark smile, she recalled the moment she faced the disease that led to the amputation of all four limbs.
Despite the difficulties, he humorously recounted some of his experiences in the hospital, such as when he constantly watched the TV series I Cesaroni : "I watched it over and over, every day I was in the hospital," he said. Tomorrow, some of the series' cast members, led by Claudio Amendola, will be present at the Giffoni Film Festival to present I Cesaroni - il ritorno , the new, highly anticipated TV series produced by Verdiana Bixio of Publispei.
One of the most poignant moments was when Bebe commented on this year's Giffoni theme, "Becoming Human": "I believe in humanity," the champion said, "and especially in young people who never stop dreaming." And speaking of dreams: "A film about me? No, I'd much rather have a film about Paralympic sport, but one made 'Italian-style,' with that intelligent lightness we have in our cinema. My dream would be Checco Zalone."
